Teru Teru Bozu December 19, 2013
Teru Teru Bozu is a Japanese rain doll that can be hung to either bring rain or stop the rain! You hand it upside down to bring rain the opposite to stop rain. Now a days many Japanese hang them outside next to their laundry, since most Japanese do not use dryers, but rather the natural sun to dry clothes. It is a charm to prevent Rain from harming their clothes. All you need is a marker, tissue, and string!

Skyping with Japanese Students December 14, 2013
Thanks to the JET Programme we were able to communicate LIVE to Japanese students in Akita, Japan using Skype! This was a optional activity (being on a Friday after school). We shared many laughs and the kids seemed very happy to speak with us. We answered their wonderful and thoughtful questions! We hope to do something similar in the future again!

Origami November 21, 2013
We started origami today. We provided copies of different types of origami for those who want to attempt making something other than a crane. Meanwhile, President, Shirah Vogt, gathered with a group of members who did not know or remember how to fold a simple crane. We will be doing origami throughout the year hoping to make 1000 and donate it to a local hospital, charity, shelter, or even send it to an organization Japan.

Nigahiga in Japan November 14th, 2013
Because of the break coming up we decided to have a relaxing club day and sit down and watch funny random videos. What better way to do that than to show nigahiga. A famous youtube comedian who recently traveled to Japan to film a short "Naruto movie" to honor youtube geek week. We also showed interesting videos such as "love hotels in japan", and "japanese table manners."

Calligraphy November 7th, 2013
Today we did calligraphy!! Calligraphy is a time consuming, tedious, and beautiful activity. Everyone had a fun time writing and practicing. Many found it difficult but managed to learn something. Because of high demand, we will be allowing people to come in next Tuesday to try calligraphy again!

Club Faire 2013-2014 October 11, 2013
It's that time of the year again! As usual our club happens to hold one of the most decorated and elaborate tables~ Many people came and were amazed by our displays. This year we kept same elements we had last year, but added new things too! There was only 1 person dressed up in a yukata but it was pretty hot! We also had a member even make us a poster! We are very grateful! Thank you everyone who helped!
